Ride Report: Lies

The following is a snippet of my 2-hour internal dialog while I rode the Bur Oak trail in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada.

Warm up Lap

What did I put this gear on for?.

OMG I suck!

Maybe I have a flat…

I think the brakes are rubbing.

&*^&*^# just do one lap and go home.

The ground must be super soft.

I am definitely not recovered.

OMG I suck!

Why do they keep changing the course?

It is getting bumpier every week.

I am gonna have to ride the entire day out-of-the-saddle.

This is stupid.

25-min warm up ok that wasn’t too bad.

One more.

Lap 2.

I can hold that pace for at least another lap… No prob.

The course seems to be drying up… sweet.

I guess I don’t have a flat…Lucky.

I wish people would stop going the ‘wrong way’… Newbie’s.

... that was close!

This is stupid.

22-min. I am cruising at like at least 300 watts.

One more.

Lap 3.

21-min. Wow!

I don’t even remember riding. Cool. Sweeeet.

I haven’t gotten out-of-the-saddle once.

I am the engine!

One more.

2 Hours Later.. .Last Lap

Why did I put this gear on? I always over gear.

OMG I suck!

Maybe I have a slow leak…

I think the brakes are still rubbing... again.

&*^&*^# just do one lap and go home.

The ground must be getting super soft again. WTF?

I am definitely not recovered.

OMG I suck!

I am sure that tree wasn’t there last lap.

Ouch... That was waaaaaaay too close!

This is stupid.

25-min? WTF?

Time to quit.
