Full body slam!

If you watch this video about 90xs your opinion about what might have happened changes.

At first I was thinking this guys was filled with murderous intent.

Then I started to believe he was also suicidal.

However, I seems he might have actually been trying to check the other riders line (small touch on the back – we have all done this), then started to lose his balance and grabbed at the jersey to right himself and in fear... caught the barrier and as he was going down pulled the other rider directly in front of himself.

PRESIDENTIAL TOUR OF TURKEY, STAGE 8, ANTALYA TO ALANYA, 166KM

PRESS RELEASE

In a dramatic finale, Impey crashes badly but wins overall South Africa’s Daryl Impey from Barloworld is the overall winner of the 45th Presidential Tour of Turkey but he was badly injured in the final sprint within one kilometre to go into the last stage in Alanya won by Sebastian Siedler of Vorarlberg-

As he prepared for the sprint, Impey was pulled down by former track sprinter Theo Bos (Rabobank) who put his right hand on the shoulder of the yellow jersey and created the crash (see video). It was one of the four crashes that occurred in the last two kilometres. Runner up Davide Malacarne observed: “For me, winning the race with a top 3 finish in a bunch was impossible, so I wasn’t trying to sprint. I only positioned myself to avoid splits and time gaps in the bunch. But there were some riders who aren’t sprinters and they still tried to sprint.”

Lance and Robbie

Lance Armstrong and Robbie McEwen are both weighing in via Twitter. Armstrong wants Bos's head, whilst McEwen eventually came to a different conclusion after watching the sprint, many, many times. I'd like to think that Bos isn't an out and out nutcase. I kinda like the guy. He's a big ol underdog on the road now, and his switch to the road has been interesting to watch...to say the least. Maybe it's not quite like it appears, or maybe he's a straight up maniac, because if that video actually played out the way it looks - he deserves a very long delay before he races again.

Bottom Line
What do you think? Is he mad as a hatter or very very unlucky? Vote above.

  2. not to be rude but why the bleep would someone want to take themselves down and another rider...would they not want to just take them down by swerving into them.thus keeping themselve out of harms way and not making it so obvious?

  3. that was nasty! yikes. totally intentional looking to me. bos did look like he was getting squeezed out, but he pretty much threw the other guy in front of him!

probably just a steroid induced rage.
