Bike To Work Day 2010: In Review - Part I

I received a reminder email...

Hi Everyone,

Sorry If you've received this message more than once.[I did but still forgot]

If you haven't registered yet for the 3rd Annual Bike to Work Day Winnipeg, then please register now! [I had but still forgot]

It's easy and FREE! Just go to www.biketoworkdaywinnipeg.org and click Register in the top right corner then fill in your information. You'll be entered to win great prizes like a new bike from Natural Cycle.[I didn't win the bike but did win a swank T-shirt]

Then THIS FRIDAY JUNE 25, ride your bike to work.[I ride my bike everyday but that Friday was something different. Something better. I was part of something important... and I had a swank T-shirt to prove it]. Stop by the Forks from 7:00 - 9:00 AM for a free pancake breakfast. There are also 5 bike oasis scattered around the city where you can stop for some refreshments and encouragement then join a group ride to the Forks. Group rides leave each oasis at 7:15 AM. Click on "Where and When" on the Bike to Work Day webpage for more details.

It is very important for everyone to register as we want to show how important cycling is in Winnipeg with a great turn-out. Please forward this on to all your friends, family and coworkers so that we can make this the most successful Bike to Work Day Winnipeg yet!

There are also volunteer opportunities still available. Please contact stephen.winnemuller@biketoworkdaywinnipeg.org if you would like to help. Volunteers get Happy Hour all night at the Bike to Work Day After Party at Lo Pub.

Then I received yet another email reminder....

Greetings! Bike to Work Day is only a week away!

Now that you have registered, please tell your friends to do so and join in for the festivities on June 25th! [Check]

As you may know, there will be 5 Oases this year, at locations throughout the city.Waves (group rides) led by experienced cyclists will be departing each Oasis at 7:15am en route to the Forks for the free Manitoba Lotteries Pancake Breakfast. After work the fun continues at the Bike to Work Day after-party at 4:00pm at the Lo Pub.
